Exhibition of Spatial Visualization of on sura “The Dawn” (In the Name of God of the Dawn) from the Holy Quarn (University Crusade), December 22, 2006 – January 3, 2007
Exhibition of Spatial Visualization of on sura “The Dawn” (In the Name of God of the Dawn) from the Holy Quarn (University Crusade), December 22, 2006 – January 3, 2007 In August 2006 the Visual Arts Center of the National Students Quranic Society started the project for the spatial visualization of the Holy Quran suras (chapters) in six fields, namely, typography, conceptual art, sculpture, bas-relief, posters and illustrations with the participation of several groups of students at the Academy of Art. The project, which soon developed into a remarkable movement for the revival of the Quranic concepts and values, aimed at presenting the essence of the suras in artistic language, preparing grounds for the emergence of the ideal art and enriching contemporary art with inspiration from the heavenly texts. In view of the training classes for the deliberation on the Holy Quran organized at the National Students Quranic Society, the holy sura the Dawn was chosen as the focus of the first stage of the project. And as the exhibition appropriately started with the sura Dawn, it is hoped that in the coming years other Quranic suras will be the subject of similar projects with the participation of enthusiastic students and with greater support of the responsible authorities.
